BEHIND THE SCENES
TITLE: THE ABYSM (SHORT FILM)
SUMMARY: IN THIS SCENE THE DIRECTOR HAD THE MAIN CHARACTER FALL INTO A DREAM-LIKE SEQUENCE MEETING THE GRIM REAPER. THE DIRECTOR WANTED THIS SCENE TO BE SIMILAR TO WHEN ELEVEN ENTERS THE VOID IN THE HIT NETFLIX SHOW, STRANGER THINGS. TO REPLICATE THE SAME EFFECT, WE HAD AN ARRI 1K WITH A CHIMERA SOFTBOX ATTACHED ALONG WITH COLOR TEMPERATURE BLUE GELS AND ADDED A BOOK LIGHT. WE ALSO HAD A PRODUCTION ASSISTANT MOP THE FLOOR SO WE CAN GET REFLECTIONS OF THE LIGHT AND TALENT ON THE FLOOR. WE ALSO ADDED SMOKE TO MAKE THE SCENE MORE ATMOSPHERIC.
TITLE: MODERN PROMETHEUS (SHORT FILM)
NOMINATIONS: STUDENT EMMY FOR LONG-FORM FICTION
SUMMARY: THE INSPIRATION FOR THIS SHORT FILM CAME FROM MARY SHELLEY’S NOVEL FRANKENSTEIN. TO CREATE THE DIRECTOR’S VISION, WE BUILT THE SET FROM THE GROUND UP. WITH A REMOVABLE WALL AND WORKING WINDOW, WE WERE ABLE TO SHOOT DIFFERENT ANGLES SEAMLESSLY. WE HAD AN ARRI 1K WITH COLOR TEMPERATURE BLUE GEL SHINING THROUGH THE WINDOW TO MAKE IT SEEM LIKE THE SCENE IS TAKING PLACE AT NIGHT. WE ALSO HAD AN EXTRA LIGHT PLACED RIGHT ABOVE THE REMOVABLE WALL TO GIVE EXTRA LIGHT TO OUR ACTOR WHO IS SURROUNDED BY CANDLES.
TITLE: PHOTOSHOOT
SUMMARY: TO SHOW OFF THE PRODUCT AND MODEL I USED AN ARRI HMI, ARRI LED L5/L7, AND KINO FLO LIGHTING SYSTEMS TO SEPARATE THE TALENT FROM THE FOREGROUND AND BACKGROUND. WE HAD A VARIETY OF WARDROBE CHANGES AND SHOTS PRE-PLANNED TO BE FAST AND EFFICIENT.
